Scholarship information and college & career preparation resources for students are available through the school counselors. Additional resource sites that are useful for college preparation and financial support are below:
DCTAG - DCTAG was created by Congress in 1999 by the District of Columbia College Access Act; PL 106-98 and amended by DC College Access Improvement Act 2002 and DC College Access Improvement Act 2007 to expand higher education choices for college-bound residents of the District of Columbia.
FAFSA - The U.S. Department of Education's office of Federal Student Aid provides approximately $112 billion in financial aid to help pay for college or career school each year.
College Board - A mission driven non-profit organization that connects students to college success.
DCPS Students are required to participate in a minimum of 100 hours of community service in order to graduate. Benjamin Banneker High School requires 270 hours for graduation. These service hours not only teach our students the importance of service to their communities but also rounds out their experiences and helps in gaining additional financial support and scholarships.
